Marbled murrelet  Brachyramphus marmoratus
ESA status: threatened

In addition to requiring hundreds of final listing decisions, WildEarth Guardians’ 2011 Endangered Species Act legal settlement required the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to designate revised “critical habitat” for the sea-dwelling marbled murrelet, which the agency did in 2011. Guardians supports the work of groups like the American Bird Conservancy in ensuring the murrelet is fully protected under the Act.
