Common raven  Corvus corax
ESA status: none

Ravens in the American West are persecuted by one of the most notorious wildlife killing agencies in existence: Wildlife Services, the federal animal damage control program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Wildlife Services takes a “scorched earth” approach to wildlife-human conflict and in the case of ravens has killed thousands to prevent them from scavenging on eggs of the endangered sage grouse, a practice we are challenging in federal court as it does not address the root cause of increased raven predation: human disturbance of sagebrush habitat.
