Don't Let the Oil & Gas Tycoons Repeal New Mexico's Efforts to Curtail Pollution
Dear Guardian,
Stand up for responsible energy, clean water and clean air by joining the March for Responsible Energy on Monday, May 14.
A hearing by the State’s partisan Oil Conservation Department has been scheduled for the week of May 14-18 at the New Mexico Energy Minerals and Natural Resources Department. This hearing may, or may not take place but regardless this March is intended to show a stand for responsible energy development.
The Oil & Gas Industry and the Governor want to overturn New Mexico’s PIT RULE which provides for proper waste water disposal while fracking for fossil fuels, instead of simply burying the toxic waste.
Join the one mile march along Santa Fe's historic train route.
When: May 14, 12:00 P.M to 1:00 P.M.
Where: Starts at Santa Fe's Historic Train Depot 410 S. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM and ends just a mile away at New Mexico Energy Minerals and Natural Resources Department, 1220 S. St. Francis Drive in Santa Fe.
The Climate Change Leadership Institute
(CCLI) and the Students for a Sustainable Future (SSF) have organized
this March for Responsible Energy in conjunction with their 2012 Direct
Action Project called LIFT THE FOG which stands for "Launching
Integrity and Facing Truth in Fracking Oil and Gas." This project calls
on our elected officials to responsibly regulate fracking and calls on
the oil & gas industry to adopt sustainable development measures.
We invite you to support this March for Responsible Energy. Come on out for the mile walk and take a stand for a cleaner future.
