Challenging the Harmful Use of Toxins
WildEarth Guardians is working to ensure that the rich biological diversity of the American West is not being poisoned by pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and other toxic pollutants. We believe that these so-called solutions that rely on heavy doses of toxic chemicals often merely treat symptoms and always have unintended consequences that create far greater problems in the long-run.
As with all of our work on toxics, we believe that there is a profound link between the health of the human community and the health of wildlife communities. We strive to help others to see this connection and in doing so to expand their own circle of life compassion to include willow flycatchers, bluntnose shiners and other species of native wildlife that are also besieged by toxics.
We are currently reviewing pesticide programs on western National Forests and along rivers to ensure that no irresponsible use of poisions are taking place. It is our intention to halt pesticide use that is occurring absent any environmental scrutiny or with a casual dismissal of the negative consequences of pesticides.
